Rev. Dr. Hyeon Sik Hong (Brother Hong) was born March 1, 1959, in Seoul, South Korea. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in South Korea before coming to the U.S. to attend seminary in Evanston, IL; earning a master’s degree at Vanderbilt University; a Doctor of Ministry and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). He began serving in United Methodist churches in 1993 and became a U.S. citizen in 2002. Since 1997, he has served churches in Middle TN, including: Hendersonville, Nashville, Madison, Burns, White Bluff, Clarksville and Sparta. He has two grown sons (one married with a daughter living in Oklahoma) and the other is single, living in Dickson. He loves walking in the park and practices Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Tae Kown Do.
